Mozilla Firebird - Compare Features

This is a corrected/reformulated version of this document. As ever, feature-tables and objective analysis are uneasy bed fellows - this page merely reflects that. I've introduced some other (also biased) comparisons just to show how arbitrary this is, this page takes this further.

Notes:

  1. Opera uses auto-install INI files and drag'n'drop for extensive changing of UI functions, which can be considered pseudo-extensions (opera has access to over 500 internal commands accessed through human readable INI setups). For example, extensions like the web developer toolbar are also available for Opera. Although much easier for general users to configure, the INI extensions are less powerful than the XUL programming found in Mozilla.
  2. Requires purchasing to remove adverts.
  3. Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer updates will no longer be released independently from its Windows operating system, thus it is inferred that the next major release of Internet Explorer will be coupled with Longhorn, due in 2005.
